ATP - Air Impact Wrenches
ATP air impact wrenches have a relatively low torque motor which supplies rotary inertia to a special type clutch. The clutch converts this inertia into a series of rotary blows which gradually build up torque in the fastener.
The output of the air impact wrench depends solely on the rated capacity of the tool and the length of time the tool is kept on the fastener. Maximum output of the tool can be limited by controlling the air entering the tool or by introducing flexible elements between the anvil of the tool and the fastener to absorb some of the impact blow.
